Financial compliance is a catch-all term that includes, but is not limited to, the various activities performed by FOC to assure compliance with external requirements, as well as University financial policies and procedures. The financial compliance function is staffed by two full-time staff members whose work reinforces the University's code of ethics and supports the UVAFinance mission and values by promoting of ethical conduct, informed decision-making, and responsible stewardship; administering compliance programs; monitoring corrective action plans to assure completion; performing testing, surveys, and reviews to support institutional assurances; and providing information and guidance on a variety of compliance topics.
