Staffing and Responsibility Changes in FOC

Effective 3/1/2017, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) has resumed responsibility for review and processing of labor distribution (LD) adjustments and Retro Requests (>90 day LD adjustments and Other-than-personnel-services (OTPS) cost transfers).   Effort reporting and certification will also be transitioning from FOC back to OSP in the coming weeks.  Due to these changes, Andrew Bedotto and Christine Carrizosa have taken on new responsibilities within FOC.

Recharge/Service Centers: Everything You Need to Know

What is a recharge/service center? A recharge/service center is a unit within UVA that provides non-profit goods and/or services of a specialized nature to other UVA users on a recurring basis and charges a fee for those goods/services. Units that are set up as recharge/service centers are designed to recover the costs of their operations, primarily through charges to internal UVA customers. Such revenue-generating units must adhere to University and federal government policies in the establishment of developing cost-based rates to users.

In this session, you’ll gain tips for making better charts as well as learn about the importance of choosing the right kind of chart depending on your goals and your audience.

This Lunch and Learn session is for UVAFinance employees only.  This same topic will be covered in a Brown Bag session on March 8, 2016.

UVA Marketplace Catalogs – Making your Work Easier

New catalogs have been recently added to the UVA Marketplace and more are coming over the next two months!  During this session you will learn about these new catalogs and how to make your work easier by using Marketplace catalogs. There will also be presentations about Medline, the new catalog of Medical Supplies, and Daycon, the primary vendor for cleaning supplies, as well as an update on the Research and Development Request for Proposal (RFP) project.
